Leo Goode is an award-winning artist from Western Pennsylvania. When he was twelve years old he found an old set of oil paints in his attic and has been painting ever since. Over the years, he has studied with world-renowned artists and has taken numerous painting classes and workshops. He is a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Society of Artists, Pittsburgh Watercolor Society and Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.
The inspiration for many of Leo’s paintings comes from his love of nature and the rolling hills of Pennsylvania. He believes that painting from real life is the best way to convey the beauty and freshness found in nature. Leo loves to use color and the effect of light on color as a means of expressing his artistic impressions in his landscape and floral paintings. Even though he wants people to see the realism in his paintings, he attempts to impart a certain mystery through his use of impressionism. He hopes to reach his audience with a truthful yet interpretive rendering of his subjects.
Leo has received numerous awards for his paintings including:
Besides several one-man shows at various galleries, he has exhibited at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, the Chadds Ford Gallery, the Three Rivers Arts Festival, PNC and Mellon Banks, Bella Arte Gallery, Watercolors Gallery, and the John Stobart Gallery.
Leo’s paintings can be found in numerous private collections and the following galleries: McBride Gallery in Annapolis, MD and G Squared Gallery in Ligonier, PA.
